DIRECTIONS from CAPE TOWN

Take the N7 North for 200km (Pass Malmesbury, Moorreesburg, Piketberg and Citrusdal) until you reach the Cederberg/Algeria sign; 25km after Citrusdal. The turn-off is to the right. The turn- off is also approx 15 km after a garage. It is advisable to fill up with petrol there. The Cederberg/Algeria turn-off is onto a 57km gravel road. This is reasonably narrow and corrugated in areas with some high mountain passes. Please drive carefully and expect to take approximately an hour. When you get to a fork or cross-road, keep right to Kromrivier. Come down the last mountain pass and sign in at the office. The Ceres left hand fork in the road is a nice option to take for your return journey and is similar distance of tar and gravel.

DIRECTIONS from CERES

Go through Prince Alfred's Hamlet and over Gydo Pass. When you get to Op Die Berg, take Right hand turn-off onto tar road at the sign Ceres-Karoo/ Cederberg. This road becomes a gravel road later. Pass Mount Cedar, Nuwerus, Vogelfontein, Cederberg Oasis. At Matjiesrivier there is a sign marked Clanwilliam/Wupperthal. Take the road to the left saying Clanwilliam. Approximately 6 km after this turnoff turn left again to Kromriver. If you miss it and find a sign to Sanddrift and or Dwarsrivier you have gone too far and need to turn around.
